Permanent Design Engineer
Job Description
Our Client is the worlds’ first instrument Company and market leader in the manufacture and maintenance of fire testing equipment such as full scale cone calorimeters, NBS smoke chambers and oxygen indexes.
The opportunity has arisen for an additional Design and Development Engineer using Electro-Mechanical systems to design and develop new and current product ranges for fire and gas detection systems. Their primary CAD package is Solidworks, so we’re looking for those with advanced skills in this area. Another key selection criteria will be your ability to design and install pneumatic control systems, fault diagnosis and repair, creating drawings suitable for manufacture of goods, brackets and instrumentation.

Person Specification
We’re looking for an experienced Electro- Mechanical Design Engineer who can draw on their design background to add value.
Capable of working with PID controllers or using thermocouples in an application design role.
skills in electro mechanical engineering first and an interest in application Design.
You should pay attention to detail, be a strong communicator and be able to help/support other team members as and when required
Qualifications & Experience
- Experienced in the use of Solidworks and AutoCAD
- Able to produce electrical components, ie lamp connectors
- Must be highly competent in the specification of tolerances, temperature, parts modelling, fire control systems, gaseous fire suppression systems.
Salary Package
£25,000 – £35,000 p/annum
